Just a stone’s throw

The day before Thanksgiving, I found myself shooting of all things — food.

I have said it before, I love photographing food, nothing beats it. Food doesn’t move, or talk back, and never changes poses on a photographer.

Stone’s Throw Bistro was founded in 2008 by chef/owner Richard Lendin. It’s a smaller place in downtown Sanford, Florida. When I got to the bistro, I knew right away where I was going to set up. Near the front was a window that had been sprayed with an opaquing material — ideal for soft light.

All I had to do was put up one of my White-Lightning 1600 with a tungsten gel over it in the back ground to bring up the light to about a stop to a stop and half below the window and I was golden. AS with most if not all of my food shoots, I used my Nikon D3 camera and a Nikon 28-70 f:2.8 lens to give me a good variety and range to shoot the food.

Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.
