Friday I headed to St. Petersburg for the final home game of the season for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League. Florida beat the Las Vegas Locomotives 27-24 in what was arguably the best UFL game of the season and with the win, the Tuskers are now 4-0.
A little twist this week for me was I had to adjust to not having my Nikon 600mm f:4. It’s in the shop, so I went with a slightly shorter, but equally as good, the Nikon 500 f:4 VR lens. Coupled with my Nikon D3 cameras and a 17-35 mm zoom and a 70-200 zoom I was off and running for the game. Working in the Trop was a little different than the Tuskers other two home games, which were at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Since the Trop is used baseball, the one sideline for the UFL game is out in left/center field – literally.
Since I was shooting for the league, as I have all season, so I wanted to make sure to get different angles, wide and tight, overalls of Tropicana Field etc… Here are some of those images:
